I'm a phd researcher at the university of york, and a game maker. My research is about player creativity, and how to support it in digital games. It is about how to design games with flexible structures and goals which leave room for player interpretation and adaptation. I am a practice based researcher, and often use research through design as a way to explore my research questions.
I also make games and art as a hobby. I love d.i.y. cultures such as zines and places where we can make and play with people. One of my side projects is the 'Make and Break Club', workshops I run on small tools, often tiny game engines, and making stuff together with people in short amounts of time.
Some other things I like a lot: literature, cooking, browser games, alt control games, indie ttrpg's, dancing, committing to the bit and playing with tools I don't really understand.
